The American Evaluation Association revealed a sense of how it is practical to merge theory and practice based on technology integration. My competency in relation to this began to evolve with some of the research I conducted for my classes. I was especially intrigued by Fleming’s (2001) VARK model which illustrates learning preferences in four distinct forms; Visual (V), Auditory (A), Read/Write (R), and Kinesthetic (K). This model also supports developing instructional skills to suit the needs of a diverse audience. I encounter this within the training department at my company quite often as well.

Taking all of this into consideration, I look forward to working as an instructional designer that prepares curriculum for a diverse audience. Not only does this open doors to a variety of opportunities, but it also introduces me to a host of other professional industries, thus enriching my portfolio even further.

References:

Fleming, N.
